New urban mural set to "BLOOM" under East Bakersfield bridge
This Fall, East Bakersfield will see new life under the Kentucky St/ Beale Ave bridge. This new urban mural, titled "Bloom" is a message of EMPOWERMENT for the girls and young women of East Bakersfield.
In partnership with the Hub of Bakersfield, City Councilmen Andrae Gonzalez has commissioned local artist Brandon Thompson and Jennifer Williams-Cordova in the design and execution of this large scale mural, spanning over 150,000 square feet of painted surface.
The creation of "Bloom" is scheduled to begin late-Oct and be complete on or around Thanksgiving!
